We should uphold the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind, join hands to meet the challenges in the field of climate and environment, and protect this blue planet.
Here, I would like to share a few views.
First, step up efforts to deal with climate change.
The G20 should continue to play a leading role in promoting the full and effective implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change under the guidance of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate change.
Not long ago, I announced that China would increase its national contribution and strive to peak carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and carbon neutral by 2060.
China is true to its word and will unswervingly implement it.
Second, we should further promote the transformation of clean energy.
China appreciates the concept of carbon circular economy put forward by Saudi Arabia to support the low-carbon transformation of energy in the post-epidemic era and achieve the goal of sustainable energy for all.
China has built the world's largest clean energy system, and the production and sales of new energy vehicles have ranked first in the world for five consecutive years.
According to the 14th five-year Plan and the long-term goals for 2035, China will promote the clean, low-carbon, safe and efficient use of energy, accelerate the development of new energy, green environmental protection and other industries, and promote the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development.
Third, build an ecosystem that respects nature.
China supports the G20 in deepening cooperation in the areas of reducing land degradation, protecting coral reefs and dealing with marine plastic waste, so as to build a stronger global ecological security barrier.
The 15th Conference of the parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity will be held in Kunming, China, in May next year. China sincerely welcomes all parties to attend and looks forward to the conference setting goals and actions for global biodiversity conservation in the coming period.
